“What I love about Nordic and Baltic startups is that they focus on global markets from Day 1. Thanks to the global network of our Japanese partner organizations, I am passionate about helping companies to reach any customer or specialist in the world.”

Tomosaku Sohara is Co-Founder and Managing Partner at NordicNinja VC, where he leads investments in ClimateTech, DeepTech, mobility and digital infrastructure, backing founders who are building global category-defining companies from day one.

With a background in international finance and venture investment, Tomosaku has orchestrated cross-border capital flows and enabled European startups to access both Western and Asian markets. Prior to founding NordicNinja in 2019, he held leadership roles in investment strategy and fund formation at JBIC IG Partners, structuring growth capital and project finance for cleantech and renewable energy initiatives across Europe and Latin America.

Having previously served as a baseball coach in Japan and South Africa, Tomosaku brings a deeply ingrained perspective on talent development and team leadership. He believes exceptional outcomes are driven not only by individual excellence, but by environments where diverse strengths are aligned toward a shared goal. His ambition is to help both Japanese and European companies recognize their respective advantages — and demonstrate how combining them can unlock new, world-class innovations.

Tomosaku is committed to championing founders tackling systemic challenges through breakthrough technologies, while building enduring bridges between European technology and Japanese strategic capital.
